US Stock Market Struggles Amid Rising Oil Prices and Bond Yields
The US stock market struggled to maintain its momentum on Monday as rising oil prices and bond yields weighed on investor sentiment.
Rising oil prices pushed the S&P 500 down 0.8%, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average falling 372 points, or 0.7%. The Nasdaq composite also declined by 1%.
The price of Brent crude oil rose 2.8% to $100.19 per barrel, overshadowing a gain for Nvidia after it announced a historic stock buyback plan worth up to $150 billion.
