The US stock market continued to hover around its record highs on Tuesday, while oil prices remained volatile due to uncertainty surrounding Iran's oil exports.

The S&P 500 index added 0.1% and remained close to its all-time high set on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average up 7 points or less than 0.1%, and the Nasdaq composite nearly unchanged.

Oil prices saw significant swings, with Brent crude briefly jumping above $90 before falling back below $87. It was most recently trading at $87.99, up 0.3% from Monday's settlement price.
