US Stocks Near Record High as Brent Crude Price Falls Below $100
US stocks are near their record high after the price of Brent crude fell below $100 per barrel on Tuesday, easing some pressure on the stock market.
The S&P 500 rose 0.2% and pulled within 0.2% of its all-time high set last month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 124 points, or 0.2%, as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time, and the Nasdaq composite was adding 0.4% to its own record.
The price of Brent oil has been swinging with uncertainty about when the war in Iran will allow crude to flow freely from the Middle East to customers worldwide.
