US Stocks Rise as AI Gains Outpace Oil Price Drop
The US stock indexes are poised to rise on Monday, driven by gains in AI-related stocks and a decline in oil prices.
The main indices - Dow E-minis, S&P 500 E-minis, and Nasdaq 100 E-minis - are all up, with the Dow rising 438 points or 0.84%, the S&P 500 adding 51.5 points or 0.67%, and the Nasdaq gaining 313.5 points or 1.05%.
The AI sector is leading the gains, with chip companies like Intel up 5.7% and Marvell rising 2.8%. Meta and Dell are also advancing, each up 2.3% in premarket trading.
Accenture has partnered with Anthropic to invest $2 billion in AI evaluation, sending its stock up 4.6%.
The decline in oil prices is also contributing to the positive sentiment, with energy-price-sensitive airlines like Delta and American gaining about 1.8% each.
