The US military responded to an attempted missile attack on Navy ships by striking three Iranian oil tankers, according to CENTCOM.

The attack was described as 'unprovoked' and targeted two US warships in regional waters, but no American personnel were hurt. The vessels involved were a U.S. aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer.

CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper warned that if Iran shoots at American ships, the US will impose an even higher economic cost by taking out their oil tankers.
