USDA Export Sales Report: Wheat Exports Decline, Soybean Net Sales Surge
The latest USDA weekly export sales report for August 14-20, 2026 shows mixed activity across major agricultural commodities. Wheat net sales reached 402,500 metric tons for the 2026/2027 marketing year, a 2 percent increase from the previous week and a 31 percent rise from the prior four-week average.
The main buyers of wheat included Mexico, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka. However, reductions were noted for unknown destinations, South Korea, and Honduras. Wheat exports totaled 427,800 metric tons, down 18 percent week-over-week, with the Philippines, Japan, Bangladesh, Mexico, and South Korea as primary destinations.
Corn net sales for the 2025/2026 marketing year reached a low of 31,200 metric tons, down 87 percent from the previous week and 89 percent from the prior four-week average. The main buyers included the Netherlands, Japan, Spain, Colombia, and Italy. For the 2026/2027 marketing year, corn net sales reached 1,066,400 metric tons, primarily for unknown destinations, Mexico, Honduras, Panama, and Colombia.
Soybean net sales for the 2025/2026 marketing year were down 13 percent from the previous week to 73,900 metric tons. However, for the 2026/2027 marketing year, soybean net sales reached a high of 2,478,300 metric tons, primarily for China, unknown destinations, Egypt, Algeria, and Venezuela.
