USDA Grain Bids Mixed Across Key US Regions

The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service's daily state reports compiled on September 23 and 24, 2026, reveal mixed cash grain bids across key US regions. Kansas conventional terminal elevators quoted ordinary protein bids at a basis of 35 cents under the Z contract, unchanged, with prices ranging from $7.3675 to $7.1175 per bushel, down $0.0950.

In Illinois, the Chicago conventional bid for ordinary protein was quoted at a basis of 25 to 5 cents under Z, unchanged, with prices between $6.8350 and $7.0350 per bushel, down $0.0875. The central Illinois country elevator average price was $4.94 for corn at 35 cents under Z.

At the Gulf, export elevators along the Louisiana Gulf Coast quoted US No. 2 yellow corn at a basis of 58 to 68 cents over Z, unchanged, with prices ranging from $5.8700 to $5.9700 per bushel. Additional corn bids ranged from 68 to 90 cents over Z, all unchanged.

In the Pacific Northwest, Portland export elevators quoted 10.5 percent protein US No. 1 club white wheat at a price of $6.7500 to $7.2000 per bushel, unchanged. US No. 1 hard red winter wheat bids at Pacific ports carried basis levels ranging from 15 cents under Z to 65 cents over Z.
