USDA Grain Bids Mixed as Prices Fall in Midwest and Gulf Regions
The US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA AMS) daily state grain bids bundle, dated September 18, 2026, showed mixed cash grain bids across key US regions. Most price changes moved lower while basis levels held steady.
In Kansas, terminal elevators quoted ordinary protein bids with a basis between 35 cents under and unchanged at $7.5950 per bushel, down $0.0500 from the previous day's average of $4.5500. A separate line for West bids showed ordinary protein basis ranging from 90 to 60 cents under, unchanged, with prices between $7.0450 and $7.3450 per bushel, down $0.0500.
In Illinois, country elevator averages for Central Illinois showed corn at $4.96 with a basis of 35 cents under and soybeans at $12.93 with a basis of 26 cents under. Chicago conventional bids listed ordinary protein basis between 30 cents under and unchanged, at prices from $6.9700 to $7.2700 per bushel, down $0.0375.
The Louisiana and Texas Gulf export report showed conventional export elevators quoting US No. 2 Yellow Corn with basis from 77 to 79 cents over, unchanged, at prices of $6.0325 to $6.0525 per bushel, down $0.0425. Additional corn bids ranged from 87 to 97 cents over, all unchanged, with prices between $6.1325 and $6.1825.
