USDA Grain Bids Show Mixed Cash Prices Across Midwest and Gulf
Cash grain bids across several US regions varied in mid-September, according to the USDA AMS daily state grain bids bundle. The Kansas Daily Grain Bids report showed conventional terminal elevator bids in the South at a basis of minus 35.00 cents per bushel against futures, unchanged from the prior session. This price was listed at $7.4875 per bushel, down $0.1075, with an average a year earlier at $4.5225.
The Illinois Daily Grain Bids report also showed basis changes ranging from up 5.00 cents to unchanged in Chicago bids. Prices were between $6.8925 and $7.1425 per bushel, down between $0.0775 and $0.1275 dollars compared with an average a year earlier of $4.6500.
In the Gulf export market, conventional export elevator bids for US No. 2 yellow corn at Gulf Coast ports in Louisiana were at a basis of 77.00 to 79.00 cents per bushel over futures, unchanged. This price was between $6.1950 and $6.2150 per bushel, up $0.1500 dollars.
