USDA Report Boosts Market Optimism for Corn and Soybeans
The latest USDA report has boosted market optimism for corn and soybean commodity prices. According to Matt Bennett, co-founder of AgMarket.net, the updated supply and demand numbers show strong support for the market.
Bennett notes that the pre-harvest rally already priced in a sub-10% stocks-to-use ratio for corn, but there's still reason for long-term optimism. He believes that the price needs to be elevated to encourage farmers to plant more acres of corn next year.
The September report also shows strong soybean demand, with over 5.5 million additional acres planted compared to last year. This has led to a decrease in carryout from 325 to 310, drawing down world stocks slightly.
