USDA Report Shows Decline in Corn and Soybean Conditions
The latest USDA NASS Crop Progress report released on July 27, 2026, shows that corn and soybean conditions in major producing states have declined. The report covers the week ending July 26, 2026.
Corn silking progress in the 18 states representing 91% of the 2025 corn acreage reached 78%, up from 59% the previous week but slightly below the five-year average of 74%. State-level data shows notable gains in Colorado and Minnesota, where silking jumped from 54% to 79% and from 58% to 87%, respectively.
The overall corn condition rated good to excellent for 63% of the crop, down from 67% the prior week and below the 73% reported a year ago. Soybean blooming in the 18 states that planted 96% of the 2025 soybean acreage advanced to 80%, compared to 66% the previous week and the historical average of 74%. Soybean condition was rated good to excellent for 63% of the crop, a slight decline from 66% the week before.
