USDA Report Shows Spike in Corn Prices at Louisiana Gulf Coast Ports

The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service released its Louisiana and Texas Export Bids report on October 1, 2026. The preliminary grain report covers bids at Gulf Coast ports in Louisiana for conventional export elevators across corn, soybeans, and soft red winter wheat.

For US No. 2 yellow corn in bulk, the current CIF-barge bid at Gulf Coast ports in Louisiana ranged from 60.00Z to 68.00Z cents per bushel, up 10.00 cents. The average stood at $5.6200, compared with $5.0375 a year earlier.

The report notes that price and basis values are quoted for current delivery unless otherwise indicated. Trade month symbols used in the report include F for January, G for February, H for March, J for April, K for May, M for June, N for July, Q for August, U for September, V for October, X for November, and Z for December.
