USDA Reports Spike in US Wheat Prices Amid Increased Demand
USDA Portland Grain Bids for August 26, 2026 showed increases in wheat prices, particularly for higher protein levels. US #1 Hard Red Winter Wheat bids ranged from $7.8650 to $7.9525 per bushel, up $0.3075 with an average of $7.8975.
The 11% protein bid averaged $8.1875, while the 12% protein bid reached $8.3775 for current delivery. In contrast, US #1 Soft White Wheat bids for 10.5% protein were $6.5750 per bushel for current delivery, unchanged to up $0.1500.
US #2 Heavy White Oats remained at $260.00 per ton, the same as the previous report. The number of grain vessels in Columbia River ports yesterday was 11, with five docked according to the Portland Merchant's Exchange.
