USDA Reports Surge in Soybean and Corn Ethanol Production
U.S. soybean processing and corn use for ethanol production saw an increase in August compared to last year, boosting domestic demand for two of the nation's largest crops.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported Thursday that processors crushed approximately 210 million bushels of soybeans for oil during August, a 6% jump from the 198 million bushels processed in August 2025.
This surge in processing resulted in about 2.45 billion pounds of soybean oil being produced, a 4% year-over-year increase.
