Uzbekistan Unveils Plans to Launch Free Liquefied Gas Market and Introduce Energy Passports

Uzbekistan's Minister of Energy Sherzod Khodjayev has announced plans to establish a free market for liquefied gas and introduce energy passports for each mahalla, or neighborhood. The move aims to improve interaction between electricity and natural gas suppliers and the public and business sectors.

The minister stated that an energy passport will be developed for every mahalla, containing data on the number and categories of consumers, as well as the condition of electrical and gas networks. If existing infrastructure proves insufficient, the document will outline measures for grid expansion.

To achieve these goals, digital technologies and artificial intelligence tools will be deployed more extensively to assign tasks to personnel, analyze operational risks, and forecast potential failures. This will allow for proactive decision-making regarding capacity expansion and infrastructure modernization.
