Uzbekistan's Energy Sector Declines Amid Lower Gas, Oil, Coal Production
Uzbekistan's energy sector has seen a decline in production for key resources such as natural gas, oil, and coal in the first half of 2026. According to data from the National Statistics Committee, natural gas output dropped 16.4% year on year to 18.3 billion cubic meters.
Oil production also declined by 3.1% to 313,800 tonnes, while gas condensate production fell 19.7% to 462,100 tonnes. Coal production was down 16.7% from the same period in 2025, with 2.5 million tonnes produced.
In contrast, some energy-related sectors saw growth. Gasoline production increased by 6%, reaching 614,200 tonnes, although this still falls short of the 675,900 tonnes recorded in the first half of 2024.
