Gas prices in Arizona's Valley region dropped by 7 cents over the past week to settle at $4.42 per gallon, according to AAA Arizona. The decrease is attributed to a drop in crude oil prices and optimism that the Strait of Hormuz will resume normal operations.

Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, noted that Arizonans are still paying about $1.19 more per gallon than they were at this point last year.

Typically, gas prices start to decline in the fall as demand decreases and people settle into their routines, said Vazquez.
