Despite reaching its highest average price per gallon in September on record, gas prices have dropped by 7 cents a gallon in the Valley this past week.

According to AAA Arizona, the current average price for gas is $4.80 a gallon, still 99 cents higher than last year at this time and 16 cents above what it was a month ago.

David Caltabiano, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, stated that while crude oil prices have decreased back into the $90 per barrel range, pulling down the national average, overall gas prices remain the highest they've ever been at this time of year.
