Vassilev Blasts Government's High Price Response

Continue the Change Leader Assen Vassilev has criticized the Bulgarian government's handling of high prices, saying that problems were predictable and warned about during the election campaign in late March and early April.

Vassilev cited several factors contributing to the crisis, including the war in Iran, natural gas supply problems, and disruptions to grain supplies following attacks on terminals in Odesa.

CC had called for a substantial anti-crisis package in the 2026 budget, but Vassilev claims that only a small portion of the government's EUR 300 million package would benefit low-income households. He also argues that subsidies for fuel used by agricultural machinery would primarily help large grain producers.

Vassilev emphasized that the measures announced by the government would not reduce prices for any Bulgarian household, and he called on voters to choose a strong, independent, and responsible president in the upcoming election.
