Vedanta Limited has appointed Arun Misra as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective August 1. Misra currently heads Vedanta's subsidiary Hindustan Zinc and will serve a one-year term.

The appointment comes at a time when the company is reporting strong financial results, driven by favorable global commodity price trends. For the quarter ending June 2026, Vedanta reported a consolidated net profit of ₹5,473 crore, marking a 72% increase compared to the previous year.

Revenue from operations grew 51% to ₹23,456 crore during the same period. The company's financial performance was bolstered by robust pricing in its core segments, particularly zinc and copper. However, raw material costs increased 37%, pushing total expenses to ₹17,558 crore.
