Vegetable Oil Exports Set to Surge 2% to Record High in 2026/27
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has forecasted that global vegetable oil exports will reach a record high of 141 million tons in 2026/27, representing a 2% increase from the previous season.
This growth is mainly driven by stronger trade in rapeseed and sunflower oil, with rapeseed oil exports expected to rise by 8% and sunflower oil shipments projected to increase by 15%.
The higher supply outlook, supported by improved oilseed supplies and firm demand, is leading to increased crushing activity in major processing markets including the European Union, Canada, and Bangladesh.
