Venture Global and ConocoPhillips ink 20-year LNG supply agreement
Venture Global has inked a major 20-year deal with ConocoPhillips to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG). Under the agreement, ConocoPhillips will purchase 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG from Venture Global, with deliveries set to begin in 2030. This long-term sales and purchase agreement (SPA) adds a significant global buyer to Venture Global’s customer portfolio, underscoring the rising demand for low-cost American energy exports.
Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the market’s confidence in the company’s ability to deliver reliable LNG volumes. “Venture Global is proud to welcome ConocoPhillips, one of the world’s leading energy companies, as a long-term partner,” Sabel said. He emphasized the deal as a reflection of the company’s proven capacity to deliver scalable, low-cost U.S. LNG efficiently.
Since starting production at its first facility in 2022, Venture Global has expanded its total capacity across multiple assets in Louisiana to over 100 MTPA. The company operates key Gulf Coast facilities, including Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG, alongside an integrated supply chain encompassing natural gas transportation, shipping, and regasification infrastructure. Additionally, Venture Global is developing carbon capture and sequestration projects to reduce emissions across its LNG facilities.
The agreement provides ConocoPhillips with secure LNG volumes to enhance its international trading and supply portfolio, while strengthening Venture Global’s commercial foundation as it scales up its production capabilities.
