Venture Global Lands 20-Year LNG Deal with ConocoPhillips
Venture Global has signed a major LNG supply deal with ConocoPhillips. Under the terms of the agreement, ConocoPhillips will purchase 1 million metric tons per year of liquefied natural gas from Venture Global for 20 years starting in 2030.
This deal marks another significant milestone for Venture Global, following a similar agreement made last month with China Gas Holdings to supply 500,000 tons per year of LNG during the same timeframe. According to CEO Mike Sabel, the continued market confidence in Venture Global's ability to deliver reliable and low-cost U.S. LNG is reflected in this new deal.
Separately, Venture Global has submitted a request to federal regulators to allow phase 1 of its Plaquemines LNG plant to go into service, which would be a final step before the facility can begin commercial operations at the LNG export facility in Louisiana.
