Venture Global Moves to Start Commercial Operations at Plaquemines LNG
Venture Global has taken a significant step forward in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector by filing a request with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to officially place its Plaquemines LNG facility into service. The 3.6 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) facility, located in Louisiana, is now poised to begin commercial operations, marking a crucial milestone for the company.
Once operational, Venture Global will be able to sell LNG cargoes to long-term customers at contractual prices, which are often lower than spot market rates. The company has been selling volumes from Plaquemines into the spot market during the prolonged commissioning phase, but the shift to commercial operations will allow for more stable, long-term supply agreements.
