US-based Venture Global has been at the forefront of liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports, delivering 1,000 cargoes since its first shipments four years ago. The company's deliveries saw a significant surge of more than 40% year-over-year, with 127 cargoes exported during the second quarter ending June 30.

The growth in LNG exports is attributed to expansion efforts at Venture Global's operational export terminals along the US Gulf Coast. The largest expansion project is from trains 19-36 at the Plaquemines terminal, which will add an additional 1.96 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) to its feed gas capacity.

The company reported that it was on schedule to produce the first batch of LNG from the second phase of its Calcasieu Pass terminal by next year. However, Venture Global missed analyst expectations due to lower LNG prices and higher costs.
