Vessel Traffic Through Strait of Hormuz Remains Low Amid Ongoing Tensions

Despite ongoing tensions in the Middle East, shipping data shows that a dozen commodity vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend. This is down from 35 vessels during the previous weekend.

According to analytics company Kpler, four vessels left the Strait of Gibraltar on Sunday, including two tankers with refined oil products and two carriers empty for bulk goods or gas. Meanwhile, two smaller oil tankers entered the Gulf.

Data also showed that five vessels left the Gulf on Saturday carrying agricultural products, liquefied petroleum gas, and fertilizers, while a very large gas carrier was empty.
