Vietnam Gold Prices Continue to Disappoint Buyers Two Weeks After Rock Bottom
Two weeks after hitting rock bottom on July 23rd, gold prices in Vietnam continue to disappoint buyers who thought they had bought at the bottom. According to recent data from various gold sellers across the country, including SJC, DOJI, and PNJ, the loss for those who purchased gold at the peak price of 140 million VND/ounce on July 23rd has increased by 500,000 VND/ounce over the past week. The current loss stands at a staggering 3 million VND/ounce.
The prices of SJC gold bars have been set at 137 million VND/ounce for buying and 141 million VND/ounce for selling across most businesses. However, those who bought gold on July 23rd are now facing losses ranging from 2.5 to 3 million VND/ounce.
One notable exception is PNJ, whose losses have narrowed compared to other major brands. At PNJ, the loss stands at 1.5 million VND/ounce for those who purchased SJC gold bars at 138.5 million VND/ounce on July 23rd.
