Vietnam Gold Prices Plummet Amid Global Market Volatility
The price of gold in Vietnam has taken a hit over the past week. The Saigon SJC Jewelry Company listed its SJC gold bar prices at 137-141 million VND/tael for buying and selling, respectively. This marks a decrease of 4 million VND/tael from last week's closing session on July 26.
DOJI Group followed suit with similar price listings, also down by 500,000 VND/tael in both directions. The buying - selling difference remains at 4 million VND/tael.
Investors who bought SJC gold bars last week and sold them this week would have lost 4.5 million VND/tael. Those who purchased gold rings, however, would have fared even worse, with losses of up to 5.5 million VND/tael at DOJI.
The global market has also seen a decrease in gold prices, with the world gold price listed at $4,041.7 per ounce as of August 2, down from last week's closing session by $10.
