Vietnamese Gold Prices Hold Steady Amid Global Market Volatility
Gold prices in Vietnam remained stable on September 21, despite global market uncertainty. Gold bars were purchased at around VND 144.6 million per tael, with no change from the previous day's rate. The steady demand propped up the market, while global gold prices stayed high due to safe-haven interest and evolving expectations regarding interest rates and the US dollar.
The MCX gold futures were trading up on September 21, as the October contract gained 0.84% to approximately Rs 1,54,263 per 10 grams. This increase occurred as investors kept watching global market developments, such as movements in the US dollar, expectations around interest rates and geopolitical tensions.
The prices for major gold brands in Vietnam were also steady, with SJC, DOJI, PNJ, Bao Tin Manh Hai, Phu Quy, Mi Hong, and Bao Tin Minh Chau all quoting VND 144.6 million per tael. Buyers should compare rates before purchasing, as prices can vary across cities and jewellers.
