Vietnam's Petrovietnam Gas Eyes LNG Deal with Russian Giant Novatek
Petrovietnam Gas, a unit of state-owned Petrovietnam, is in talks with Russian producer Novatek to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the latter as part of its plans to diversify its LNG supply sources.
The move aims to reduce reliance on traditional suppliers and secure stable supplies for Vietnam's growing energy needs. Novatek is one of the world's largest independent natural gas producers, with significant operations in Russia and abroad.
The talks between Petrovietnam Gas and Novatek are ongoing, with no official agreements announced yet. The deal, if finalized, would mark a significant shift in Vietnam's LNG supply landscape.
