Vietnam's SJC Gold Prices Plummet Amid Market Fluctuations

Gold prices in Vietnam saw mixed movements on August 1st after a strong surge at the end of July. The SJC gold bar, in particular, experienced a sharp decline with buying and selling prices dropping by up to 2.2 million VND/ounce compared to the previous day.

The SJC Company listed the price of SJC gold bars at 137 million VND/ounce for buying and 141 million VND/ounce for selling, while Bao Tin Minh Chau's prices were slightly lower at 137.9-141.9 million VND/ounce. In contrast, DOJI Group saw an increase in prices with SJC gold bars trading at 137.9 million VND/ounce for buying and 141.9 million VND/ounce for selling.

The international market also showed a decrease in the spot price of gold, reaching approximately $4,043 per ounce on August 1st, down from $4,101 per ounce on July 31st. This translates to a world gold price equivalent to around 129.1 million VND/ounce based on the Vietcombank exchange rate.
