Vinit Bolinjkar Warns Against Chasing Momentum in Indian Equities
Indian equities are likely to remain volatile in the near term but have a constructive medium-term outlook, according to Vinit Bolinjkar, Head of Research at Ventura. Global markets are currently in a transition phase with geopolitical uncertainty and crude oil movements continuing to influence investor sentiment.
Bolinjkar noted that Indian equities are supported by stable macroeconomic conditions, healthy corporate balance sheets, and strong domestic institutional participation. However, he emphasized the importance of focusing on quality, valuations, and diversification in investment decisions.
He warned against chasing stocks purely based on recent momentum without evaluating business quality and valuations. This approach could lead to overpaying for companies with weak fundamentals and potentially disappointing earnings growth.
