Wall Street Stocks Slip Amid Rising Oil Prices and Mixed Earnings
Stocks on Wall Street edged lower on Thursday as investors weighed rising oil prices and mixed earnings reports from various companies.
The S&P 500 fell 13.59 points, or 0.2%, to 7,709.96, pulling further away from its record set on Tuesday.
Despite the decline, the index is still solidly on track to notch weekly gains, with roughly 85% of companies in the S&P 500 having reported their results and overall earnings growth for the period shaping up to be the strongest since 2021.
Warner Bros. Discovery rose 1.7% after reporting earnings that came in ahead of expectations, while Molson Coors gained 1.3% following encouraging financial results.
