Wärtsilä to Provide Comprehensive Support for Carnival's LNG-Powered Cruise Ships

Carnival Corporation has signed an eight-year Lifecycle Agreement with Wärtsilä to strengthen maintenance and operational performance for four LNG-powered cruise ships. The agreement covers vessels from Princess Cruises and Carnival Cruise Line, including two currently under construction.

The deal represents the first services agreement between the companies for Carnival vessels powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). Wärtsilä will provide comprehensive support for the dual-fuel engines and associated equipment installed on the ships. The Finnish company recorded the order during the second quarter of 2026.

The agreement combines Wärtsilä’s expertise as the original equipment manufacturer with its digital capabilities, global services, and remote monitoring tools to support the safe and efficient operation of the dual-fuel engines. According to Vera Lannek, Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Asset Management at Carnival Corporation, the agreement supports the company's strategy to maintain high operating standards and deliver a quality experience for passengers.

Andrea Morgante, Vice President of Performance Services at Wärtsilä Marine, noted that the contract consolidates a long-standing relationship between the two organizations and reflects their shared interest in improving cruise ship performance through proactive maintenance, data analytics, and technical collaboration throughout the assets' service life.
