WASDE Report Sparks Speculation Amidst Weather-Induced Market Volatility

Grain traders are awaiting the release of WASDE production data tomorrow, which will contain actual FSA numbers that have historically contained surprises. The trade is expecting more soybeans and fewer corn acres, but as always, there's a chance for unexpected results.

The USDA has a wide range of estimates for corn yields, ranging from 178.5 to 186.9 bushels per acre, with the whisper number coming in at around 184 BPA, assuming steady acreage. However, acres are a major wild card, and the USDA can revise them based on the FSA certification report also released tomorrow.

Rumors of discussions between Ukraine and Russia to end the Black Sea export standoff have not been confirmed. Meanwhile, weather forecasts remain bearish, with heavy rains expected in the crop belt. However, this has already been factored into market prices, which are holding steady due to bullish global fundamentals.
