Washington Gas Prices Tumble Despite Soaring State and National Averages

Gas prices in Grant and Adams counties, Washington have experienced a slight dip over the past week, while state and national averages continue to rise due to international supply concerns and increasing crude oil prices. According to AAA data for September 14, the average price of regular gasoline was $5.46 per gallon in Grant County and $5.48 per gallon in Adams County. This represents a slight decrease from September 8, when prices averaged $5.47 in Grant County and $5.55 in Adams County.

The statewide average increased from $5.51 to $5.56 per gallon over the week, while the national average jumped from $4.15 to $4.32 per gallon. Compared to a month ago, prices have risen significantly, with current prices up 31 cents in Grant County and 27 cents in Adams County.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, attributes the increase in fuel prices to global events such as the shutdown of Saudi Arabia's East-West pipeline, friction between the U.S. and Iran, and attacks on Russian refineries.
