Global gold and silver prices closed lower on Tuesday due to a stronger U.S. dollar.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, December delivery gold futures lost 0.44% to settle at $4,332.80 per ounce, while December delivery silver futures also dropped 0.44% to close at $63.856 per ounce.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) warned that a failure to modernize the global trading system could leave global GDP up to 10% lower than under a strengthened multilateral system.

According to the WTO's annual flagship publication, 'World Trade Report 2026: A Critical Juncture for the World Trading System', trade policy faces its most serious and sustained disruption in decades.
