Wednesday's Market Declines Hit Corn and Soybean Futures
Closing markets for Wednesday, July 29 saw declines in corn and soybean futures on the Chicago Board of Trade. The September corn contract dropped by 10 cents to $4.48 per bushel, while December's contract fell by 9 cents to $4.71.
Soybean futures also took a hit, with September's contract down by 30 cents at $11.74 per bushel and November's contract down by 28 cents at $11.91.
The Wheat Futures market saw more modest declines, with September's contract down by 2 cents to $6.60 and December's contract down by 3 cents to $6.76.
From The Andersons at Kent Bridge, the 2026 crop corn price fell by 8 cents to $6.12 per bushel, while the 2027 crop corn price dropped by 2 cents to $5.97. The 2026 crop soybean price declined by 27 cents to $15.83 per bushel and the 2027 crop soybean price fell by 15 cents to $15.03.
The Ontario Pork Reports showed an increase in the US CME price, up by $0.12 from the previous day to $98.42 per hundredweight, dressed weight. The 100% formula price also rose, up by $0.09 from the previous day to $251.38 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight.
