Western Canada Grain Prices Rise Amid Regional Variations

The latest data from PDQ, owned by the Alberta Wheat Commission, provides insights into grain prices across Western Canada. As of August 12, 2026, the average grain prices in various areas are as follows:

CWRS (Canadian Western Red Spring) wheat is trading at $13.5 per metric tonne, while CWAD (Canadian Western Amber Durum) is at $13.0. CPSR (Canadian Prairie Spring Red) and CDA (Canadian Durum A) are priced at $11.5 and $12 respectively.

The yellow pea market saw prices rise to $2 per metric tonne.

Varying prices were observed across different regions, with Peace Region seeing the highest CWRS price of $299.45, while N Alberta had a relatively lower price of $309.08.
