Western PA Gas Prices Spike as Crude Oil Remains High

Gas prices in Western Pennsylvania have increased by 20 cents this week, according to AAA East Central's Gas Price Report. The national average for a gallon of regular gas is now at $4.47, up 16 cents from last week.

The price hike is attributed to the continued high crude oil prices, which are averaging $100 per barrel due to volatility in the Strait of Hormuz. This has pushed gas prices back to their spring levels and is bringing the national average closer to its record high of $4.56 set on May 21st.

Locally, the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Beaver County is around $4.78. The surrounding areas also saw significant increases, with several counties averaging above $4.70 per gallon.
