Wheat Bulls Rally into Close as Month-End Pressure Fades
The wheat market faced month-end pressure to close out August, but bulls managed to stage a comeback into the close. Chicago SRW contracts posted losses ranging from 3 ¾ to 10 ¼ cents, with prices 15 to 18 cents off their lows. On the other hand, KC HRW futures saw declines of 1 ½ to 7 ½ cents in the front months, while deferred contracts rose by 1 to 11 cents.
The low number of delivery notices for September CBT wheat was another sign of market pressure. Only 9 contracts were issued on first notice day. In contrast, there were 143 delivery notices for September KC wheat. This discrepancy may reflect the varying demand and supply dynamics in different regions.
Over the weekend, Turkey made headlines by pushing for a Black Sea shipping corridor to facilitate grain exports. The move aims to restore the flow of grains, which have been limited due to various factors.
