Wheat Falls in Chicago as Corn and Soybeans Post Modest Gains

On Friday, September 25, wheat futures fell in Chicago while corn and soybeans saw modest gains. December wheat futures dropped by 0.53% to $258.40 per ton, while corn rose 0.14% to $207.97 per ton, and soybeans increased 0.11% to $484.64 per ton.

Wheat prices were under pressure due to slower US export sales. According to UkrAgroConsult, US wheat export commitments totaled 9.449 million tons, down 31% year-over-year, representing just 45% of the USDA's projected exports, compared to an average sales pace of 54%. December corn futures closed at $5.28¼ per bushel, up ¾ cent.

US corn export commitments stood at 18.238 million tons, down 29% year-over-year and equal to just 22% of the USDA forecast, versus an average sales pace of around 29% for this point in the season.
