Wheat Prices Reverse Course Amid Ongoing Geopolitical Tensions

Wheat futures are trading lower on Wednesday following Tuesday's strength across three markets. According to TradingView, Chicago SRW contracts closed 5 ¼ to 8 ½ cents higher on Tuesday, while open interest declined by 920 contracts. KC HRW futures also showed gains of 2 ¾ to 6 ¼ cents.

However, the momentum reversed direction on Wednesday, with wheat prices down across all three exchanges: CBOT Wheat closed at $7.28 1/2, while KCBT Wheat and MIAX Wheat prices were similarly affected.

The recent weakness in wheat prices may be linked to ongoing geopolitical tensions between Ukraine and Russia. On Monday, President Trump called for Ukraine to halt attacking Russian energy infrastructure, but the proposal appears to have been met with skepticism, as strikes on energy targets continued on Tuesday.
