Wheat Prices Rise Amid Fading Hopes for Black Sea Exports
Euronext wheat prices rose on Monday due to the latest attacks in Russia's conflict with Ukraine, casting doubt on a resurgence of Black Sea exports.
The December wheat contract traded on Paris' Euronext closed up 0.9% at EUR243.75 ($279.63), recovering losses from the previous two sessions.
Chicago wheat prices also increased by about 2%, supported by rising corn prices and optimism around a US-China summit scheduled for this week.
The conflict has disrupted Black Sea exports, with Russian and Ukrainian shipborne exports virtually ceasing after attacks on ports and ships.
