Wheat Prices Soar Above €250 Amid Ukraine-Russia Export Worries
Wheat prices have skyrocketed to over €250 per tonne in Paris, marking their highest level in three years. The surge is largely driven by concerns about disrupted grain exports from Russia and Ukraine.
The Paris futures market saw the December contract reach a high of €253.50 on Tuesday, following a previous peak at €251 on Friday, August 28. The price then fell to €245.25 on Monday before rebounding again.
In Chicago, the December contract rose to $7.82 per bushel, also reaching its highest level in three years.
The market volatility is adding pressure to an already tense situation. With global food security at risk, the impact of these price fluctuations will be closely monitored by industry experts and consumers alike.
