Williams, an energy infrastructure company, is expanding its natural gas footprint in the Haynesville shale with a $5.5 billion deal for Momentum Midstream.

The acquisition adds significant pipeline and gathering capacity as Gulf Coast demand from liquefied natural gas export plants, power generators, and industrial users continues to grow.

Williams will acquire Momentum Midstream for up to $5.5 billion, including $3.5 billion in cash and debt and $2 billion in equity.

The deal expands Williams' Haynesville footprint with over 4,000 miles of pipe, 1 million dedicated acres, and 6 billion cubic feet per day gathering capacity.
