Wisconsin Gas Prices Soar to Record Highs Amid Global Oil Price Surge

Gas prices in Wisconsin have skyrocketed over the past month, increasing by 50 cents per gallon. As of Wednesday, the average price of gas is $4.41 per gallon, a significant jump from last week's average price of $4.11 and $3.93 one month ago.

The spike in prices can be attributed to rising global oil prices and higher demand, according to AAA public affairs representative Brian Ortner. Diesel prices have also reached an all-time high in Wisconsin, with a record-breaking price of $6.62 per gallon on Tuesday.

Crude oil is the driving force behind gas prices, accounting for 61% of fuel costs at the pump, according to the U.S. Oil & Gas Association. Global conflicts and their impact on global supply have also contributed to the increase in oil prices, Ortner said.
