Woodside Energy Soars as Oil Prices Hit US$91 Per Barrel
Woodside Energy (ASX:WDS) saw its shares rise as oil prices jumped to over US$91 per barrel, driven by cooling prospects of a diplomatic thaw between Washington and Tehran.
The increase in oil price had a significant impact on energy stocks, with Woodside being one of the largest beneficiaries due to its size and exposure to oil and LNG markets.
Woodside's full-year 2025 result reported net profit after tax of approximately US$2.7 billion on operating revenue near US$12.9 billion, with a fully franked full-year dividend of 112 US cents per share.
The company's half-year 2026 results are due on August 25, which will provide greater visibility on realised prices, LNG volumes, capital spending, and the interim dividend.
