Woodside's Louisiana LNG Project Hits 28% Completion Milestone

Australia's energy major Woodside is pushing its liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Louisiana closer to the planned first shipment in 2029, after reaching a fresh construction milestone at the site. The Louisiana LNG project on the U.S. Gulf Coast had reached 28% completion as of the close of the second quarter of 2026.

With a $17.5 billion outlay, the undertaking involves three massive LNG trains and two large LNG storage tanks, which will be able to hold 235,000 cubic meters each, more than 90 Olympic-sized pools' worth of volume.

Woodside states that the project is still on budget, with construction accelerating over the past 14 months. The firm added that the expanding Louisiana LNG team remains committed to delivering the project safely.
