WTI and Brent Prices Rebound Amid Uncertainty Over Iran Conflict
Oil prices experienced a slight rebound on Tuesday after a sharp drop in the previous session. Brent crude oil rose to $88.40 per barrel, while WTI increased to $81.
The market's optimism over diplomatic talks between the US and Iran was tempered by conflicting information from Tehran about ceasefire negotiations. This uncertainty contributed to a rally in oil prices as traders remained wary of potential disruptions to Middle East supply.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a key concern, with some tankers opting for safer routes due to shipping risks. These extra costs add up and could push oil prices higher if exports continue through the strait are disrupted.
A technical analysis of WTI crude oil suggests that a clear break above $90 may target the $100 region. Conversely, a drop below $77.50 could expose the $65 area.
